BBS (Bachelor in busines studies )
Program Objective
The objective of the BBS program is to develop students into competent managers for
any sector of organized activity. The program is based on the principle that graduates will
spend major portion of their lives in a constantly changing environment. Therefore, the
students should have an opportunity to obtain a broad knowledge of the concepts, and
reality-based skills, underlying the operations and management of the organizations.
Upon graduation, a student should be equipped to function as a manager in
business, industry or government. The graduates should also have a variety of career
opportunities in different sectors of business, including entrepreneurship, and create
much-needed job for others.
The BBS program attempts to
- Equip the students with the required conceptual knowledge of business and
administration to develop a general management perspective in them.
- Develop required attitudes, abilities and practical skills in students, which
constitute a foundation for their growth into competent and responsible
business managers.
- Encourage entrepreneurial capabilities in students to make them effective
change agents in the Nepalese society.
- Develop necessary foundation for
higher studies in management
and thereafter take up careers
in teaching, research and
consultancy.
Admission Requirements
The candidate applying for admissions to the BBS program:
Must have successfully completed the PCL or HSEB 10+2 in business/commerce/science or
any equivalent course from any board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University.
Must have studied mathematics or economics as a full paper at the 10+2 or equivalent
level.
Teaching Methodology
The general teaching methodology will mostly include class lectures. Lecturers will also
conduct group discussions, case studies, presentations, assignments and project work as
per the requirement of the subject.
Class Hours
The Classes for BBS will run from 6:30 am to 11:00 am (Morning Shift) and from 11:00 am
to 4:00 pm (Day Shift), Sunday to Friday.
Examination & Assessments
The final examination for BBS will be conducted by the Office of the Controller of
Examinations, TU, Balkhu. The examination for BBS 1st year will be held on the month of
Shrawan, the 2nd year on the month of Asadh and 3rd year on the month of Baisakh.

The BBS is a three-year Bachelor
Degree program in Business.
Students need to study 14
papers in total, each carrying
100 marks. Apart from core
subjects in the first and second
year, students can choose from
five specialization areas in their
third year. Those speciaalizations
being in Accounting, Finance,
Marketing, Management and
Management Science.
